Just when I was getting a hang of the ankle grazing skirts, dang.. its fall already;) …but wait a minute.. who says these can’t transition into fall! In fact the long skirt lends itself to some stylish layering – pairs well with cable sweaters, looks great with a cropped leather jacket… and don’t forget your ankle boots! 😀 Here’s some inspiration.
Hey everyone! There was a time when I used to dread mondays…. hated getting back to a schedule after 2 days of bliss.. but these days I actually wait for monday, and look forward to having something to do.. apart from chores! 😉 Here’s what I did through my week.
3. Watched the finale of project runway. Though Dmitry’s victory was well deserved, I still liked Fabio’s stuff better.
4. My love for red lips is well documented. I read this great article on refinery.com and if you haven’t figured out your best red… here you go
I seldom write about things outside the realm of fashion, but I had to share this incident that happened to me today morning. I was taking the subway to work like any other day. I managed to find a seat and was secretly pleased at the prospect of grabbing some extra sleep on the train( I am so not a morning person ;P). At the very next stop a hoard of people got in, including an elderly couple. I offered my seat to one of them( No! am no martyr I do selfishly keep my seat when I am wearing heels that are murdering my feet:D) and the old gentleman sat down. He didn’t speak much of english but he smiled and gestured to me that he really appreciated what I had done. I smiled back in acknowledgement and spent the next fifteen minutes standing while trying to battle the woman next to me who’s large Louis Vuitton bag was nudging my side. Soon the train was too packed and I gave up on Miss. LV and moved over to the other side. A while later I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to face the old gentleman who suddenly held my hand and led me back to the seat I had given up for him. He made me sit there while a few ladies who were hoping to take the seat looked on half heartedly( one of them looked genuinely pissed). He flashed me a huge toothless grin, mouthed a heavily accented “Thank you” and the couple got off at their stop waving to me! It is unexpected moments like these that put a smile on your face that will refuse to go away even after a whole day! 😀
Fashion has always endorsed an ideal( read: ridiculously thin) size… but thankfully, along comes an item of clothing that looks best when it’s slightly over sized! Be it a chunky pullover, or a textured angora sweater, oversize is the size to be 😉 And for those of you who think this looks best on modelesque proportions, think again. I wore an oversized pullover I err.. borrowed from my boyfriend and got so many compliments that I decided to never return it back to him.. ever! 😛 Here’s some inspiration! 🙂
All right I am a day late … but I shall blame it on my flu 🙂 Hope all of you’ll had a great weekend…Take a peek at what I did with my week 🙂
1. My spanish is limited to mucho gracias and hola but thank god food speaks a universal language! 😉 Took a giant bite out of columbian bunuelos.. and these things are just melt in your mouth!! Add them to your bucket list 😉 2. I take great pleasure in announcing to the world that I have successfully managed to convert my boyfriend into a beacon’s junkie. He’s hooked on to the whole thrift scene after scoring a wonderful leather jacket!! 😀3. Watched three movies back to back and am smug about it 😛4. Have you’ll seen the stuff Maison Margiela created for H&M? It will make you blab incoherently for a minute or more! eeeewaalllhhbooodrool 5. I tried this DIY:) Cut the bottoms off of two Coke bottles. Glue zipper inside. Instant snack container!
Happy happy week! 🙂
I spent the weekend holed up inside, drinking warm soup, blowing my nose and snuggling under my duvet! But that doesn’t mean my week was any less interesting 🙂 Here’s what I did 😀
1. Wore my well dusted and aired stockings after a looonnngggg time! 🙂 2. It’s the time for pumpkin flavored everything 😀 Pumpkin spiced latte for starters 🙂3. I love my ipad, but nothing beats thumbing through the crisp pages of a book! A trip to The strand for some books to read on the subway! 🙂4. Has anyone ( not) been following the “war between New York Time’s Cathy Horyn and Hedi Slimane? It’s entertaining to say the least. Here’s a sample of Mr. Slimane said in response to Cathy’s luke warm YSL review5. Say Hi to my new shade of pink lipstick.. and my new “bad hair day” hair do.. and also my lopsided necklace 😉 Happy happy week everyone 😀
