Why am I not tiring of statement necklaces? Why does it have this hold over me that every time I see a cute piece in the store my palms get sweaty? What kind of sorcery is this? 😛 But the good thing is I can be a little lax about the outfit I choose to wear because the necklace does the work for me 😉 So more power to it! Who’s with me on this? 😉
I always Poo-poo eh the idea of bling except during holiday season! But I must have known better!:P I have no idea what the front of these open toed slingbacks look like but the back had me at well … bling! 🙂 They would go so well with a summer dress when the thought of wearing pumps might make you feel sweaty! 😉 The only thing… You need to have your pedicure game on (but that shouldn’t be hard ):D Happy hump day folks!
I have stopped short of yelling from the rooftops that I spent my week at Vegas:) so no surprise that you’ll have to suffer about me going on and on about it. 😛 Whilst at the tradeshow, I managed to sneak out of the booth to indulge in people-watching and here are some of my captures 😀
Because my braiding skills are non existent and I love a good braid when I see one … 🙂 I immensely admire people who can walk the day in heels. * Looks down at my worn out loafers*This shot was perfect.. at least for a generic digital camera 😀 Common give me some credit! Even sweatshirts need to dress up once in a while 😀Sock buns are so easy.. in my head, in reality not so much!! 😛Sneaky sneaky neon!A fishtail braid refuses to stay put on my hair There’s something about doing the “sheer”!This woman carried off patent leather like nobody’s business.
With Christmas/ New year around the corner, you probably have a flurry of parties lined up in the coming weeks:) Time to temporarily stow away the “dark” clothes and pull on some sparkly threads. But carrying off a “all out” bling outfit might be intimidating for some of us which is why I have pulled together some inspiration. Irrespective of what you wear, make sure you put on that dazzling smile and you will be just fine 🙂 Wishing all of you a very very happy holiday! 😀 1. Neutrals+texture+ Sequinned collar2. Sequins+plaid3. Sequins+ sharp tailoring4. A touch of sequins5. Sequins+Neutral sweater+ black tights6. Sequin blouse+ Leather7. A pair of sequinned tights for the brave 🙂8. A sequin jacket when you want to go all out 🙂9. Or if all fails, pull on a sweet little sequinned bow 🙂
The “collar” is having a moment now, the peter pan in particular! Embellished, printed, leather, Lace, attached, large, small you name it, it’s around 🙂 I bought a couple of peter pan collar blouses, albeit apprehensively, and I am glad I did! They are cute, fun and girly and you certainly need to be no Alexa Chung to carry this off! I just might continue wearing them long after this trend dies!I think went “awww” for about 2 mins after I came across this mani! Adorable:)
Karl Lagerfeld must be a huge fan of Pamela Love! How else would you justify him sending cuffs that look just like the jewelry designer’s down the runway this season at Paris? Chanel’s PR team is in damage-control mode announcing they would refrain from selling these pieces to “respect the creative process”. Understandably so! While everyone’s wondering why Karl copied Pamela since more often than not its the other way round – couture is knocked off by mainstream design; have any of you thought of the possibility that both these designers may have copied another (common) source and it was more about timing? Either that or the dime a dozen collabs that Karl is involved in has taken a toll on his creative juices and he erred. Sorry Pamela!
Recycling fashion aka looking to the past is nothing new, every brand does it, it only becomes an issue when “inspiration” ends up being a literal copy. Talking of cuffs, I’ve recently embraced the “arm party”! I’ve been going at it one at a time; a little bling never hurt anybody ! Feel free to be “inspired” 😉
I wouldn’t be exaggerating when I say The Oscars event is the biggest runway; what with most of the world watching. So it’s no surprise that celebs are in their A game, but sadly over the last couple of years I have come to believe that most of them settle for “safe” bets! Obviously no one wants to be on the “worst dressed” list but there’s only enough of corset dresses I have patience for! So I tuned In expecting clichés! Let’s say I was surprised but only a little! Hollywood glamor reigned supreme with abundance of swept up hair, red lips and ladylike dresses! The risk takers for the evening of course included Angelina Jolie with her leg perpetually stuck out( Bravo!) in Versace and Gwyneth Paltrow (god bless her)who managed to give us regular folk a glimpse of Tom ford’s latest collection. There were other who looked great as usual Natalie portman in vintage dior, Jessica Chastain in a black and gold Mcqueen, Tina Fey in Carolina Herrera and Milla jovovich in elie sab! From all the clutter, I managed to pick the emerging trends. Here are my findings
2. White! (We saw a lot of white on the runway this NYFW and so it’s no surprise that white is going to be big next season)
3. Green( surprise surprise!) There was definitley more red than green but however there was more green this year than there has ever been (especially in the after parties)!
