No dress list is complete without a striped one! I remember the time I used to shy away from wearing stripes of any kind.. but in hindsight that was just plain silly! To have an easy knit dress(that screams nautical) that is perfect for your summery days and can still look great transitioning into fall is a no brainer don’t you think?:)
The Altuzarra for J.crew collection which I wrote about earlier has inspired me to do a post on all things Nautical. This is one theme that people can never get enough of and it inevitably shows up every spring. Not only is it classic and effortless, I quite like the modern update it’s been given by several designers who play with the colors (instead of the traditional navy and white), the size and placement of the stripe, and the way the ensemble in itself is put together. Incase you are wondering why this nautical theme manages to “resurface” every time; here are some awesome inspirational images to remind you exactly why. 🙂
Who wants to go on a vacation now? 🙂 me me me….
All my home work is clearly taking a toll on my title naming skills, hopefully it doesn’t spill over into my content writing 😉 I now announce yet another reason to love J.CREW- their new venture with Altuzarra, who follows on the heels of their previous collab with Prabal Gurung! The preview of the collection is out and it’s very predictably and unpredictably nautical. Predictable because J.crew dabbles with this theme a lot, unpredictable since it’s such a surprise coming from Altuzarra, who’s aesthetic is a lot different. The pieces are wearable and versatile in the fact that they can be mixed and matched in true J.crew style. My “drool worthy” item – The heeled penny loafer hybrid 🙂 What’s yours?
