Finally a trend that fits my wallet, my lifestyle and my feet 😀 I totally am in love with pointed toes! I may or may not own over 3 versions of these 😛 simply because they look so elegant and pair like a dream with literally everything. Please tell me you guys are feeling this trend as much as I do? 🙂
Hey there everyone!!
Oh monday! What have we done to deserve you 😛 But there’s little to do than endure 😉 I had a great week and am hoping you’ll did too 😀 Here’s what I did with mine.
1. Was in a dilemma whether to eat this yumm amorino gelato ice cream flower or not.. it was too pretty to look at but then too tasty to pass up so .. burp! 😛 2. Because there is no such thing as too many shoes! 😛 3. Prat unearthed this picture from one of his half unpacked bags and now it hangs on my wall!:D I gave this to him as a birthday gift when he was 22… the things you do when you are young, stupid and in love 😛 But I probably have to do another one because he doesn’t look like this anymore 😐4. I am not a fan of pasta dishes, they fill me up in 2 bites and then I feel disappointed that I can’t eat too much 😛 But then I tried this spinach baked pasta here and couldn’t stop eating. Now in hindsight it might be a bad thing lol. I tweaked the recipe a little by adding half no fat cream cheese and half mozarella.. Creamy goodness 5. I have been quite the hard worker( see above for everything I treated myself to:P) and managed to complete a trip to Ikea as well as complete my monthly Trader Joe’s grocery haul before the paparazzo got a ghastly shot of me ;PHappy Happy week to you all! Chin up! 😀
And you still say you don’t believe in love? 😛 Jokes apart, I am not hugely into the concept of Valentine’s day but if it means spending time with your loved ones, and being happy, ( and dolling up… and stuffing your self… and getting all those gifts… and… and..), then more power to it 😀 Happy Valentine’s day to you’ll!
While there’s so much talk about the clothes everyone wore at the NYFW – on and off the runway, it would just be plain cruel to not discuss all the gorgeous shoes! Here are some of my favorite knockout kicks that I wish I had in my closet! sigh.. 🙂 (And these are only from the street.. For the ones on the runway I’ll have to do a full post entirely.)
A floral bouquet at your feet…And whoever said brown and black dont go together was.. wrong! 😉Graphic all the way… Well heeled 😉 My tongue is all tied up looking at this one !Wedge sneakers .. whats not to loveBling bling bling..Color blocking is always funPlush velvet loafers..Studded…
Come summer, and crochet comes with it bringing a touch of handcrafted feminine charm to your outfit! And the best part – you still stay airy while the sun
beats shines down on you 🙂 If that weren’t enough, these patterned pretties look great as a cover up on the beach, on a pair of shorts for a day out, a cute little vest over your sundress, thrown over a pastel tank and pretty much everything else… even on accessories!
I know that summer is strictly flip flop weather.. but common there are occasions that demand that you look less casual! 🙂 Enter the loafer.. the perfect shoe that is as comfortable as it is smart. After wearing ballet flats for about 20 seasons now I am ODing on these beauties! They look great with any ensemble and add a bit of edge to the most feminine outfit which works for me 🙂 From basic suede tasseled varieties to the more embellished studded ones, a good pair of loafers can take you from day to night 😀 See what am saying?
I love skirts … The fitted sheath, the flattering A line, the mini pleated style, the high low version( I’d probably give the mini skirt a miss)……and now I have found yet another skirt to obsess over – The MIDI/ TEA length skirt( thanks in part to mad men i am guessing). It is a little tricky to get it right, but you might want to give it a try seeing how many things it can do for you – A lady like demeanor, plenty of movement and obviously a great alternative for those not blessed with thin pins:) Here are a few things to keep in mind before buying yours.
1. Length is key – both your legs’ and the skirts’. Taller women can get away with pretty much any length, but shorter ones( like me) should make sure the skirt hits just below the knee and not lower. 2. Create a focal point: Emphasis your natural waistline and create some curves by using a belt. If that isn’t your strong point, use a piece of statement jewelry – a chunky necklace to move the eye in a different direction.3. Stay Well – heeled: I dont wear heels unless I have to and give them a miss everytime I can. 🙂 But as some one who’s only 5’4″ the midi skirt warrants some added height, pair your skirt with a pair of comfortbale wedges or pumps. Remember ankle straps don’t do anything for this look.4. Play with the volume: Wearing midi skirts that are too voluminous can make you look squat especially when your body type isn’t a model’s. Doesn’t mean you need to skirt the issue 😛 simply choose a less voluminous variety/ fewer gathers/ pleats around the waistline. 5. Choose the tops wisely:Solid tops or mini prints are the best bet – with a little bit of drape or a simple knit tee. In case you want to go in for larger prints, make sure your skirt is a solid neutral. Light layers can also add interest to the look
Come summer and the espadrille comes with it..! 🙂 It’s amazing how many variations are available… flat soled, wedges, peep toes, creepers, sandals… you name it. I love them for their super casual vibe, and the fact that they look as great with a dress as with a pair of rolled hem pants… In fact I just ordered a fresh pair yesterday and here’s my attempt at getting you to buy yours 🙂I rest my case 😀 GOOD DAY/NIGHT everyone 🙂
