I am tired of endless cups of hot tea and trying to not step on muddy puddles on the side walk. I am also tired of being bundled up in a million layers only to discover the heating in my office beats sub saharan temperatures!:P In short while I am aboard ” the snow is magical” train, I am longing for some sunshine and the joy that comes with dipping your toes in sea water that is not frigid! 🙂 So I thought of giving all my coat and winter posts a break and put up these images from my trip in Galveston – abundance of sunshine, warm water and the boardwalk to boot! I could use a holiday just about now 😀
It’s that time of the year where I want to wear nothing more than a thick sweater, jeans, a puffer and boots everyday but since I can be marginally vain and have quite a few coats sleeping in my cupboards, I have to will myself to try and wear something else despite the cold playing truant 😀 I love chunky oversized boucle coats, yes they make you look exactly what their name promises – “chunky” but never mind that! I wore a pair of dotted tights( thank god they were wool) under a skirt paired with a thick cable sweater and felt sufficiently warm enough to step out.. But the warmth may have also been due to the presence of a special someone 😛 ( Ok I still had to wear a cardigan over my sweater ;)) Happy hump day folks!
Neutrals are having a moment in my everyday wardrobe at this time.. simply because I can save time putting together my outfits and use it instead on my elaborate winter skin care routine( more on that later):P Here’s a classic example! Taupe and grey animal sweater with a pair of black skinnies and brown boots! A little “plain jane” maybe but when the weather is acting pricey, this shall do 😀 What’s your winter uniform?
PS: Happy weekend! 😀
Velvet, burgundy, chunky sweater, black tights, dark nails.. I think this outfit checks all boxes on the fall fave list! And a touch of glitter is perfect for the coming holiday season.. 😀 Now the question is where can I get myself this outfit? 😀 Maybe the weekend will tell 😉 Happy friday!
I promise myself every other day that I would go chocolate-free for an extended period of time and bite the dust .. every time. Ditto with shopping:/ Just when I thought I was done with sweaters for this season, this one looked at me longingly and begged for some space in my closet! And I took the bait! 😛 Also that’s my doll-ified gravatar wearing it for you to see 😀
Okay don’t go all weird on me but I must confess that Prat and I swap clothes when we can; especially when the item in question is a sweater. Like I mentioned only a hundred times before, I like wearing them a little oversized; which gives us both the perfect excuse to swap our chunky knits and pretend like we bought new clothes 😛 So here’s what happened the other day when we ended up switching, the results are for you’ll to see. I wear his faire Isle pullover and he makes my ski sweater look better than I did ❤Sweater Swap – Yay or Nay? 🙂
In an act of sheer courage and selflessness(as if) I am now going to let you have peeks at my ill equipped wardrobe! So please warmly welcome my new section CLOSET DIARIES – considering the size of my matchbox wardrobe, the longevity of this section is questionable but stop me if you can 😛 Talking about minuscule closets and even smaller budgets, as much as I’d like to buy every piece of clothing in sight, the sad reality is I’d rather invest in pieces that I can pair with as many ensembles as possible. So in my first edition of this “self – proclaimed” genius idea I share with you what I think should be a ‘Maybe – have’ list of sweaters 🙂 ( you’ll still need them through spring) (Disclaimer:Not all of them are pictured below)
1. The EVERYDAYERSs: The no frill pieces, the warm comfortable basics, the ones you automatically reach out for to pair with everything – V neck/scoop neck/cardigans in a neutral palette of grey, black, navy, ecru and khaki. Start collecting here. 🙂
2. The “I LOVE ME SOME COLOR TODAY”ers: I have a few colored cable knit sweaters which I like to wear when I am tired of looking washed out. Kelly green, red, yellow, and oxblood have been my go-tos this season.
3. The PATTERN LOVER : Patterned sweaters are a new-found love for me. Polka dots, fair isle patterns and stripes are great fun additions to your collection. I also like them a tad oversized.
4. The ” SPECIAL SOMETHINGS”: These are the truly trend driven pieces – My pearl sweater, the peach cardigan with chiffon panels, foil printed chunkies, cable knit sweaters with leather sleeves and crochet insets….. these are pieces I wear occasionally but the ones I truly debate on whether or not to buy 🙂
Are you a sweater junkie like I am? Which ones are your favorite? 😀
Fashion has always endorsed an ideal( read: ridiculously thin) size… but thankfully, along comes an item of clothing that looks best when it’s slightly over sized! Be it a chunky pullover, or a textured angora sweater, oversize is the size to be 😉 And for those of you who think this looks best on modelesque proportions, think again. I wore an oversized pullover I err.. borrowed from my boyfriend and got so many compliments that I decided to never return it back to him.. ever! 😛 Here’s some inspiration! 🙂
