Is that a blazing meteor? blinding neon UFO,? A jewelry store come alive? .. Oh wait look it’s Anna Dello Russo!:P Proud owner of a gargantuan collection of over 4000 pairs of kicks; Vogue Japan’s editor of large is a jewelry junkie, a staple on most style blogs and if all this doesn’t impress you, she also infamously quoted ” If I do not get photographed, I will be miserable.” While I have to resort to several things to keep you’ll interested, Miss Russo has obviously no such problem! 😉 Isn’t she crazy in the coolest way?:) ( I mean look at those sunglasses)
Welcome to yet another edition of Hi5 Mondays! In between looking for jobs and worrying about my future, I’ve been (surprisingly) spending good time getting to know New York better. .
1. Finally visited the Luna Park in Coney Island. I’d recommend a trip just to get a feel of the “old school” charm of this place complete with freak shows and arcade games.. oh yes.. and the cyclone !:)2. I found this on Pinterest and took it as a sign from above 😉 3. Try sinking your mouth into one of these sweet treats(I did :)) .. candied apples, marshmallow coated nuts- you can worry about the sugar high later 😉 4. Got to see the the much awaited September Vogue cover featuring Lady Gaga.. While I totally dig the dress… the hair not so much..!5. Daffy’s is going out of business! ( I always feel bad when I see one of those banners!) I have never been in one of those stores earlier, but bf and I just decided to get in on a whim. We picked through a truckload of stuff and finally stumbled upon these fab shoes from Diesel for him on a great deal. Sniff I wasn’t that lucky! Looking forward to yet another eventful week! Happy day 🙂
It’s not very often that I post excerpts from an editorial, but this one from VOGUE India I couldn’t pass this up. I’ve been bringing you glimpses of India and it’s heritage in this section and decided there would be no better way to do that than this – an amalgamation of stunning textiles, embroidery, printing techniques and modern silhouettes in an olympics themed setting! 😀 (Brilliant concept don’t you think? ) I believe the editorial captures a sizable portion of the burnished Rajasthan landscape and fiery color palette indigenous to the indian culture. I like the details that make it quintessentially indian – the obvious elephant and palace references as well as the subtle nod to the milk-can on the cycle. I hope you’ll find it as visually stimulating as I did 😀 Have a great weekend dearies!
In the girl crush section, I’ve decided to cover women who’s dressing style and aesthetic inspire me a.k.a make me wanna steal their wardrobe! 🙂
Preetma Singh goes first! Spurning her ivy league background for a career in fashion is true testimony of her love for it! She currently works as a fashion assistant in the editorial department at the Vogue, is a constant in most street style blogs and has a style of dressing that can be best described as eclectic! I love the fact that she infuses her own take on everything she wears be it designer or high street. The working Girl where she chronicles her personal style gives you more reason to be mildly obsessed with her. Enough said!
